PVC Frame

Complete instructions for building a frame from PVC tubing are included in each of
the patterns. When built to the plans , the frame can be taken apart and stored
flat. The largest glued section is about 40" square.
The PVC pipe is simple to cut using inexpensive tools. There are no special techniques or equipment needed. The joints are 'glued' using the solvent bought at the same place as the pipe and fittings. All the fittings are standard and should be available at any hardware store. If you have a problem locating any item, give us a call, and we'll see if we can help. We also have made arrangements with a small company here in town to supply precut pipe. If interested get in touch with us.
Some of the hardware companies have brochures explaining how the pipe goes
together. This can be helpful if you have not dealt with the stuff before.
What I have found that helps is to keep a couple of straight pieces about 10" to help
align the parts as I go. The glue sets quickly so you don't have time to sit back
and inspect and then change. Practice on some scrap pieces first to get a feel for
the techniques and setting the depth of the joint. A right angle (triangle) is
helpful if you have one. I think the plastic framing one I use cost a $1.89.
It is important to get the frame fairly straight to aid in setting up and taking apart.
You won't be using this for plumbing so watertight joints aren't needed, but they
should be secure. Do well and have fun. The kids are going to love it.
